I’m reporting back this week from last Saturday’s Eighth Annual Bucks County Ancestry Fair, hosted by the Bucks County Visitor’s Center, and organized by the Bucks County Genealogical Society. It was a fantastic event, and such a pleasure to meet and mingle with genealogical community of Northeast Philadelphia and Lower Bucks County. I was so very heartened by everybody’s interest and appreciation of my work. I distributed a great deal of postcards and business cards, so more folks now know where to find me!
All in all, a splendid time. I want to give a shout-out to The Historical Society of Bensalem Township and the Old York Road Historical Society for being such fine table mates, and for all the work they do to preserve our local history. Also a very special thanks goes out two people who went an extra mile to make sure I had every opportunity to take a seat at the fair: Joyce Homan, Executive Director of the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania, and Jeff Sipler, the Vice President of Programs and Education at the Bucks County Genealogical Society. You guys are simply great, and I can’t wait to do it again!
Until then, enjoy these pics of the event:
Looks like a great time. Someday I will attend a show like this.
